Tea Musings

Starting around October 3rd, Ed and I started brewing and drinking tea every night together (pu-erh... mmm). It has proven to be a delicious and effective way to wind down from a long day, slowing down our minds and focusing on being present. A friend of mine was recently talking about the concept of being present, and as I think about this more I am really starting to love it. I realized it's something I would habitually focus on while walking to / from work (about 1.5 miles), just listening to the sounds around me and trying not to think of anything but what was currently happening to me. So hard to do, but very fun! I have done this for years, just trying to listen to everything at once without thinking. Maybe that's why my hearing is powerful enough to sometimes be thought of as superhuman. :)

The last few days, I haven't had any tea, and I am realizing that this is not ok with me. Time to get back to brewing! I really think it does wonders for my state of mind, and recommend it to anyone as a way to destress and enjoy time by yourself or with a loved one. And if you want AMAZING tea with which to get started, I recommend contacting Zen Dog and finding a time to stop by his tea house for a tasting. http://www.teahousegallery.com/

Drink tea, be present, and have good dreams...
